SERVICES
Our residential services are aimed at young parents under the age of 16, care-leavers, parents with mental health concerns or learning disabilities, parents exposed to domestic violence and parents with drug and alcohol related issues.
We have a team of professionals able to conduct residential or community court-directed assessments and we envisage most cases will centre on safeguarding. Our team of professionals from other disciplines can also offer tailored assessments, which include different formats and procedures than those traditionally used by social workers.
We provide a range of Residential Assessments, Community Placements and Viability Assessments. Within the community, we provide parenting assessments, parenting programmes and support for families living in their own homes.
Residential Support
Some families may need short term residential support beyond their residential assessment to continue to develop parenting skills. These groups may include young parents under the age of 16, or care-leavers, parents with mental health concerns or learning disabilities, and parents with drug and alcohol related issues. The house provides a safe and supportive environment for all family groups in which parental interaction can be positively developed and family relationships nurtured.
Community Placements and Assessments:
Using community assessments can be beneficial to the parent/s, child and referring agencies. We conduct assessments and provide parenting assessments, programmes and support for families who may be living in their own homes.
Our dedicated team can conduct community programmes with the child in the home elsewhere if the child has been placed in alternative care. The level of staff input is totally flexible, and each parenting support programme is customised to suit each family's needs.
Viability / Feasibility Assessments:
Feasibility Assessments are used to effectively gather all the necessary information that determines whether the parent should be reunited with the child for purposes of further assessment or to consider if an assessment should run for the usual 12-week period. Assessments are structured in accordance with individual needs of the families and can be undertaken on a community or residential basis.

A Feasibility assessment may be conducted to determine the likely outcome for a longer assessment and to help prevent harm caused to a child through a failed or prolonged assessment.

The individual needs of each family and their supporting services is included in the assessment as well as consideration to the potential disruption of the child.
