We set about recruiting the best staff who have a multitude of skills and talents which are well employed at Rowans. Our management team have over eighteen years experience, with the manager having a BA (Hons) Degree in Early Years and Education, one deputy manager having a Foundation Degree in Early Years and Education, and the  other deputy manager holding a NVQ Level 3, and working towards a Foundation Degree in Early Years and Education.

 

The nursery also has several senior practitioners who ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the nursery, as well as a member of management on hand at all times, to discuss any aspect of your child’s care and development.

The nursery practitioners are either qualified or working towards their qualification. They are specifically chosen for their caring natures and their ability to interact with babies and young children. We have a pool of staff who has worked at the nursery from six years, to as long as fifteen years. Our philosophy is to employ and retain the highest quality staff. All staff are enhanced DBS and reference checked, with all qualified staff holding a Paediatric First Aid certificate.

Each area has a senior practitioner responsible for the efficient running of their section, who supports the settling-in of children, and is happy to answer any questions you may have. They will also be responsible for delivering the EYFS in an enriched, safe and secure environment.

The support staff, cooks, cleaners and maintenance personnel are not only chosen for their ability to do a good job, but also for their understanding of, and affinity with, babies and young children.

All meals are well balanced and freshly prepared daily by the in-house cook, and we source our meats from our local butcher.  We fully cater for children’s dietary requirements and allergies.

As a successful and highly-regarded nursery, many colleagues choose to send their students to us for part of their training. Students provide valuable input into the nursery; they are always enhanced DBS checked and fully supervised and are not counted in the ratios of staff to children.
