At the Rowans we offer a take home bear scheme in all sections of our nursery. Each section has their own cuddly toy as well as an information folder.

 

We invite parents to take the cuddly toy home for the weekend and include it within their child’s weekend, we ask them to take photographs over the weekend and write up in the folder briefly what their child has been doing over the weekend with the cuddly toy.

 

When the cuddly toy is returned we then discuss this as part of our group time sessions.

This activity encourages positive parent partnerships as well as children been able to share their experiences and adventures with their friends, promotes communication and language skills and is also a fun experience.
